DESCRIPTION
The technical teams at Viña Los Vascos took nearly three years to develop Los Vascos Carmenere Grande Reserve. Special attention was devoted to the Carmenère variety, which has almost disappeared from its native France but is now a flagship grape in Chile.
The main objective was to pick the grapes at perfect ripeness, by controlling irrigation and yields and through a selective harvest. The resulting wine charms with its ripe fruit and spicy aromas, some of which are evocative of Chilean cuisine.
TASTING NOTES
Beautiful bright ruby colour. The nose reveals aromas of cherry, blackberry, and blueberry. Notes of black pepper, ripe red bell pepper, black olive, paprika, smoked chili powder, thyme, and bay leaf can be discerned in this Carmenère. The palate offers loads of chocolate truffles, roasted chestnuts and cherry liqueur. The tannin is forward and persistent. Unmistakably a Carmenère.
